PV Shipyard commences fabrication of steel structures for European Offshore Wind HVDC

On August 14, 2025, at the Panel Workshop of PV Shipyard (Rach Dua Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), the🔯 company held the First Steel Cutting Ceremony for the fabrication of a 4,200-ton Loadout Support Frame (LSF) and 1,600-ton Skid Beams.🅰 These auxiliary steel structures will support the 2GW HVDC platform in the North Sea, Europe.

About the Project:

  • Loadout Support Frame (LSF): This marks the third out of four LSF units for the 2GW HVDC project. The frame functio🌺ns as a temporary support structure for loadoꦇut, float-off, and transportation of the topside module.
  • Skid Beams: Serving as “rail tracks,” these beams enable the movement and positioning of the LSF and to♔pside along skid-ways onshore and on barges.

This is PV Shipyard’s first participation in the supply chain for an HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) project — a cutting-edge transmission technology in the offshore wind sector. Although focused on auxiliary steel structures, the project represents a significant milestone for the company in meeting the stringent standar💝ds of European HVDC developments.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the project owner and international EPC contractor, PV Shipyard’s leadership, as well as partners and 🧸subcontractors.

With more than 17 years of experience in mechanical fabrication for tඣhe oil & gas industry and previous HVAC projects, PV Shipyard is steadily expanding into offshore wind. The project is scheduled for completion in early 2026, generating hundreds of jobs for Vietnamese workers and further establishing the capabilities of Vietnamese enterprises in thﷺe global renewable energy supply chain.
